I rather excited to came upon the new iSquare Mall in the old hotel site in Tsim Sha Tsui. So what did I do there? I'm not a shopping type of people, nor was I going to eat there. I did nothing pretty much. I'm actually quite happy just to ride the escalators. The intricate cascade of escalators goes up and down with great view of the street scene below. It is a great place to see live goes by.

Next I came upon the old observatory now restored into an upscale shopping complex called Heritage 1881. Tsim Sha Tsui is becoming more glamorous than ever.

Start Ferry is my next activity. I was just going to ride the Star Ferry to the Central and come right back. But I found the pier in Central is also changing and is becoming a destination itself. There shops and restaurant and a farmers market. I found a newly opened Maritime Museum there and spent two hours to check it out. It is good to be a tourist for a day.

I found these tickets in the bottom of the drawer, yellowed paper tickets dated December, 1999. It was from the one trip to the United States my father made in 1999 for our wedding ceremony. After we went back to work, he and my mom would venture out on their own, using the bus map to find their way around the city. He did not stay long through. After a little more than a month, he returned home. These tickets were keep as his memento.

I slowly start to resume some normal activities. I went to see a movie this afternoon. The Broadway Cinematheque is a multiplex with a shop for movie merchandise, a cafe and a bookstore. It is a great cultural destination. I have not dwell in there too much. But I am glad that there is a place like this.

The movie is 不老騎士 "Go Grandriders". A group of elderlies, average over 80s, are out to accomplish a dream. They want to make a trip around the island of Taiwan on motorcycle. This is a physically demanding trip that last 2 weeks! Despite of their aged and frail body, the granddads are determined to do this. The documentary follows them along. There are challenges, there are assorted health problem to deal with, a lot of tears have shedded (because of their determination to tackle the problems). It brings a lot of happiness to the granddads when they finally accomplished their dream at the end. This is quite an inspiring tour.

三月五日清涼的深夜，我和家姐步出佛教醫院走到外面無人的街頭。五年前媽媽在這醫院過世，這夜榮業也離開我們了。榮業你再不用受痛苦的煎熬了，安息吧，我們會懷念你的。
